Seniors & Ladies Texas Scramble

We had a very enjoyable time with the ladies today and whilst most of us put in average scores, there were three teams who stood out, including some serial podium finishers, as follows:

Third place, with only three members were Gerry Gentle, William Skelding and Janet Batchelor. Second place were Anne Gurney, Diane Hall, Geoff Beck and Phil White. Winners,  just,  June Evans, Pauline Gauge, Paul Marshall and Steve Cooper.

A good amount was raised for the Raffle, split between the sections.

Two Clubs and a Putter Trophy

It was a little bit of a test today, even more so in the bunkers without a sand iron !!! However, I think the experience was worth it, even if some players now feel that they definitely have too many clubs in their bag !!
The winner was Phil White with a well constructed 33 points, one point ahead of Ian McAinsh and Peter Jarman. We had 53 in all, so not a bad turn out for an un-fancied competition. Results are on the Computer and the Seniors' Board and HERE.
Four of the Vets played their own two clubs and a putter competition today and Baz declared himself the winner on count-back !!
This was also the final round of the Golfer of the Year competition, with best six of eight to count. It was good to know that some 65 players actually scored one point or more in the competition and 110 members have entered the competitions this year. Very well done to them, what about those of you who didn't enter, lets have you playing next year ! See HERE for the full Golfer of the Year table.  Peter (Hon Sec)

Autumn Singles Stableford-Nine-holers competition

The usual core of veteran Seniors turned out to play on Tuesday in parallel with the main competition. Presentations were made by Capt. John to the winners: Graham Richardson and Jim Taylor. The handsome one at the back is Frank Tilley.

Autumn Singles Stableford

We had 66 stalwarts on parade for the competition yesterday. The weather was very good, the course was good and some of the scoring was good. I was surprised by the banditry on view, that no-one could score more than 38 points,
However, Bernard Gurney was a 'cut' above the rest, winning on count back from Phil White, Martin Ives and Paul Stallard. Considering Phil and Martin play off 6 ( now 5 !!) and 8 respectively, well done Bernard. Please click HERE for the full results sheet.
