Christmas Fayre

What a wonderful occasion to start my Senior’s Captaincy – I swear I’ve never had to clean my ball more often or repair more pitch marks than I did today! There was a great turnout for The Christmas Fayre with 73 players taking part – isn’t it just wonderful when you can boast that “everyone’s a winner”.
Congratulations of course to Alban Macdonald who came 1st with 37 points, followed closely by Paul Jeeves 2nd with 36 points and then William Skelding 3rd with 35 points, well done fellas.
Just take a peek at the picture of the prizes, there were 37 different cuts of meat and a wide assortment of other seasonal goodies, I would hope that everyone went away with something they will enjoy over Christmas.
Special thanks to Graham McKay for organising the event and running the raffle which raised a brilliant £327.00 in aid of The Prostate Project. Thanks also for all the support I received from Peter Hollingsworth, Ray Smart, John Morris, the JOG staff and Ken Robinson for the photographs – wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Annual Dinner '15

91 people attended the dinner and Captain Richard dispensed with the top table format so he, the Committee and guests were spread about the tables. There could have been more but we had 10 drop out and four late entrants to make up the numbers. The tables were beautifully put together and Richard had put a poinsettia on each table, to be won by a lucky lady at the end of the evening. The speeches were short, the service was a little slow but when it arrived was well presented and very nice. Two thirds of the trophy winners were there to collect their trophies from the Seniors Captain and the Club Captain.
