Two clubs and a putter–Results

It’s amazing how well one can score using only three clubs! Saves a lot of indecision on the course. Anyone want to buy 11 clubs, including a driver?

The winner today was Mike Tomblin with an excellent 38 points. Second was Steve Cooper with 35 points, 3rd was John Hazelwood (ocb) with 34 points and 4th Mike Marshall also with 34 points.  Todays results also clinched the Golfer of the Year–2011 title for Robert Anderson who has amassed 70 points. Autumn Singles Stableford–Results

On a pleasantly mild, but windy day, it looked like 33 points would win until the tail enders appeared. Then Alan Fowler came in with 36 points (ocb). Peter Webb scored 36 and John Ellary 35 points. Many thanks to John Ellary and Terry Stark for organising the competition and raffle ticket sales respectively. Gordon Percival Team Trophy–Results

Winners, with 103 points, Fergus Moynihan, David Evans and Fred Gaydon. Runners Up with 100 points, John Morris, Geoff Beck and Jim Kerr.               Third, also 100 points, Alan Fowler, Robert Anderson and George Norman.

Bailiff Shield–Results

George Turner has won the shield with an excellent 41 points, 2nd was Derek Jones with a creditable 38 points , 3rd Paul Jeeves with 35 points and 4th Gerry Gentle with 34 points. Captain’s Day

A very good turnout of 68 participants enjoyed a bright, windy, showery day on the John O’Gaunt course. Scores were not outstanding. Ian Beatty’s excellent 40 points was the exception. His good score was triggered by a pitch in at the first for 5 points! Well done Ian.  Geoff Beck was nearest the pin in two on the 11th hole, Peter Jarman was nearest the pin at the 16th and Phil Belsham was nearest the line on the 17th.  Click H E R E . for the full results list.

Member and Guest, Whitbread Trophy Results

A warm and sunny day on the JOG course was enjoyed by the members and their guests. Tony Tompkins and Jim Phelps (St Neots) won with 39 points, followed by Richard Farrow and Chris Marshall (Theydon Bois) 38 points (ocb) from Malcolm Stringer and Bryan Hartley (Crane Valley) also 38 points. Annual Stableford Trophy–Results

Some very good scores on a sultry/sunny day (28degC) on the Carthagena. Robert Anderson came in with 47 points! He was followed by John Morris (40 points, ocb) and Harry Wakefield (40 points). For the full list please click HERE

Reg Batson Trophy 2011–Results

Ken Robinson managed to scrape a win with a net 69 from Alan Anderson 70 (ocb), Robin Carter 70 (ocb) and Alan Fowler 70.  This competition was enjoyed by 29 qualifiers from the Annual Medal Trophy and Championship Trophy participants.
