On a cold crisp March morning with snow clearing slowly from the Carthagena course, the intrepid competitors started promptly at 09.00am. The snow cleared and it was a lovely day with a slight breeze keeping everyone safely wrapped up !
The Ladies brought a myriad of cakes, in all shapes and sizes and all very naughty! Our praise is due to their culinary arts. There were 96 playing in the end, which was a very good turnout and everyone enjoyed the company.
The raffle was well supported with nearly £200 being shared by the Captains for their Charities.
Bill Burrows did an excellent job under pressure and the Hon Sec will give him better supported next year!!
So, there had to be winners and they were :-
1st Place - Janice Turner and Peter Hollingsworth
2nd Place - Yvonne Smart and Martin Ives
3rd Place - Jean Cobb and Dave Evans
4th Place - Geraldine Clark and Bernard Gurney
I hope that everyone will play in the October fixture, which will be a Texas Scramble.
Peter Hollingsworth (Hon Sec)
