I understand that the majority of our team had never played at Leighton Buzzard. Alan Fowler, Captain for the day and myself were given a lesson, as our opponents better ball score was only 4 over par.
The course is good but not in best condition, greens good with medium pace. Course difficult and demanding with some blind shots and most unusual driving across other greens and fairway.
There are 2 new holes and my Garmin watch went haywire, if it had been the car satnav, the polite young lady would have said “turn around when possible” – we were trying so hard to turn around our match.
A good but simple lunch of fish, chips and peas together with dessert was most enjoyable at only £12-50/head.
Our hosts made us most welcome and everybody had a great day. Leighton Buzzard are keen to see us all again in 2014.
Ken Doggrell – Organiser.
