A most memorable day was provided by our Captain John. Eighty seniors turned out on the John O’Gaunt course for a Texas Scramble in which there were some excellent scores. The winners returned an incredible score of 58.4 net. This round included seven birdies! Prizes were also presented to the winning Veterans’ team represented by Dave Starling and Frank Tilley. The highlight of the day was the display of golfing tricks performed with great skill and humour by the world trick-shot champion, Geoff Swain. He had his audience gasping in amazement at his timing and dexterity.
The presentations were made in the Burgoyne Suite following sandwiches and chips. The Captain thanked Geoff Swain for providing the entertainment and Alan Fowler (Vice-Capt) for his hard work in organising the competition. The pictures below are in the order presented.
